Cordovan takes over sales and management consultant Sällma
Rapidly growing management and communications consultancy Cordovan Group is buying sales and management consultancy Sällma, which will be changing its name to Cordovan Performance. This takeover is one step towards the company's aim of being one of the leading consultancy groups in marketing, sales and business development on a European level.
Sällma, which was founded in 1983, is currently one of Sweden's best established consultancy and training companies, operating in the fields of sales, management, recruitment and communication. Its business consists of some 30 consultants, with offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. Well developed structural capital in the form of what are known as best practices, methods and models mean that Cordovan Group is expecting to be able to develop operations quickly both nationally and internationally.
"Sällma is a natural piece of the puzzle when it comes to our ambition to build a strong European consultancy group in the field of marketing, sales and business development," says Magnus Penker, President and CEO of Cordovan Group.
Most of Cordovan Group's specialist companies work with change processes in one form or another, and with the takeover of Sällma the company sees an opportunity to take more far-reaching responsibility for changes to customers' operations.
"We perceive a market here which is large, and growing; and we plan on massive expansion in this field within the next couple of years," continues Magnus Penker.
Sällma's consultancy operation will be changing its name to Cordovan Performance in connection with the takeover, while the open course operation, formerly known as Sällma Open, will be integrated with the course currently being run within the scope of Cordovan Academy. In addition, a number of specialist Sällma consultants will be forming the framework of a completely new business area, Cordovan Recruiting, which will be focusing on the recruitment of managers, sales staff and other key individuals among customers of the group.
"The main thing that we liked about Cordovan Group was the fact that they offered us opportunities to link our core skills with the specialist knowledge of the other companies in the fields of strategic brand development, marketing and digital media - among other things. Also having the opportunity to help to build a serious new European consultancy group was another factor which helped to really pique our interest in closing this deal," says Mats Erasmie, partner and former CEO of Sällma, who will be part of the executive team at Cordovan.
